About KeenInvoice

What this is

KeenInvoice is a free tool for making invoices, receipts, quotes, estimates, proforma invoices, purchase orders and credit notes. You fill in the document on the page, and download a PDF or print it. There is no account to create, no trial, and no watermark.

We built it because we needed one ourselves. Most online invoice generators either want you to sign up before you can download, add their branding to your PDF, or send your clients’ names and addresses to their servers. We wanted the opposite: open the page, make the invoice, done — and keep our business data to ourselves.

How it works

Every page is static HTML served from Cloudflare’s network. The editor, the arithmetic and the PDF are all handled by your browser. When you press Download, the PDF is drawn on your device with embedded Noto fonts, so the text stays sharp and searchable.

Your documents are saved automatically in your browser’s storage as you type. You will find them all on My documents, where you can search, duplicate, mark invoices as paid, turn a quote into an invoice, and export a backup file to move everything to another device.

Made for real invoices

KeenInvoice handles the details that matter on an actual invoice: sequential numbering, payment terms and due dates, tax on the total or per line with a breakdown by rate, prices that include tax, discounts, shipping, deposits and the balance due, any currency, and the amount in words where it is customary.

It speaks four languages — English, Japanese, Spanish and German — and the document’s language can differ from the site’s. The Japanese layout follows the conventions of a 請求書, including the honorific after the client’s name and the tax summary per rate that qualified invoices require.

Who makes it

KeenInvoice is made and run by AREALME, the team behind KeenCalculator and KeenTimer. The three sites share one idea: fast, honest tools that do one job well and keep your data on your device.

A note on rules

Invoice requirements differ by country and change over time. KeenInvoice gives you a well-formed document, but it is not tax or legal advice. Some countries require invoices between businesses to be issued through a government e-invoicing system; a PDF does not replace that. When in doubt, check with your accountant or tax office.
